Slowly, But Beautifully....

Bit by bit, day by day the brick work (or at least the first 40 courses of it), will continue over the next 3 weeks. The 'Brickie' is methodical but very, very good and we are really happy with how the bricks are looking and will end up looking when they are done! We were reassured from both posting forums and our bricklayers that the mortar will turn out much, much lighter once it has dried fully in about two weeks, so eventually the mortar will be a very light off-white color and once the bricks are cleaned, they will look stunning! I won't write much over the next 2.5 weeks, just post pictures of the daily progress, so enjoy!

Hi, we just discovered your blog via your posts on the homeone forum, your house is looking great!

We are also building with Henley, not far from you guys in Ivanhoe. Like you, things are moving along very fast, they started about a month ago and just started laying the bricks yesterday! We are very happy overall with how things have gone so far. Of course we are not experts so we have a friend who is a builder who will be coming to our official inspections with us.

I suspect we have the same administrator and supervisor so were especially glad to hear your positive comments.

We have no blog I'm afraid but feel free to ask us any questions about how we're going.

Cheers, Lou and Joe
